Down the Silent Waters

i passed the growing ivy
they turned their gaze away
far across the moonlit lake
where unknown myths floated awake

the moan i heard
raised bubbles
upto the november skies
popped a song so melodic
viewers marched towards the sight

tramped the golden growth
with violet painted skies
cast a spell and the onlookers fell
a rage among the waters
gulped the mass who rhymed

i stared across my casement
a wardrobe floated by
enraged by the masses
i heard their silent cries

dawn replaced by darkness
still i stuck to the sill
felt the touch of my windowpane
extended my ears
to silence and the grim
